The Quechua are a proud people, deeply rooted in the traditional values of their ancestors. Despite their conversion to Catholicism, they maintain a connection to the ancient deities of their forefathers. This is particularly evident during the Christmas period when, alongside the worship of the Christ child, ceremonies are held that honor these age-old beliefs. They don traditional attire and pay homage to Inti, the sun god, who holds the highest position in the Inca pantheon, akin to the Christian God.
