In May 2014, I visited Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States, to attend the 25th Annual Paiute Snow Mountain Pow Wow. This Pow Wow was a vibrant gathering of tribesmen and women from across North America, including Canada. The arena buzzed with lively food, families, sounds, colors, and feathers. Contestants took turns entering the arena to showcase their best dances for competition prizes. The dances featured were the Chicken, Grass, Fancy, Traditional, and Straight dances. Each tribe also presented a drumming group, which competed for prizes as well.
