Runcorn Railway Bridge also known as Ethelfleda Bridge or Britannia Bridge, is an imposing feat of engineering. It spans the Mersey from Widnes to Runcorn, crossing the Mersey at the Runcorn Gap. It opened in 1868, and there is also another bridge called, The Silver Jubilee Bridge; that sits along side it which was opened in 1961. I had been across this bridge many times, whilst on the train out of Liverpool, but had never been down to take a good close-up look at it. so one spring afternoon, in April 2016 – i went with a friend and my camera to take some shots. We got right underneath the bridge and took some lovely angled shots.
